Obituary for Donald Frederick Jones, Jr.

Donald Frederick Jones Jr., also known as “Freddie”, “Don”, and “HT” was born in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Donald Jones Sr. and Lorraine Painter-Jones August 19,1945. He grew up in Diggs Parks and in 1965 he joined the Navy and served in Vietnam.

In the military he achieved many certifications such as welding, pipefitting, brazing, basic auto mechanic, blue print reading, and sketching to name a few. He retired in October 1991 as a Chief Petty Officer after 26 years. After Retirement he worked for Long Term Parking, Lilian Vernon, drove for Mary Jane Bakery, and Hampton Roads Mail Service before retiring again from His managerial Position at Rocket Direct.

Donald was a Redskins fan who loved to go fishing. He liked Deviled eggs and Lemon Meringue Pie. Donald Enjoyed listening to the soul music from the 70s with his favorite drink, Jack Daniels mixed with a Pepsi and a splash of lemon. He took pride in having the latest and best technologies. Donald was loving, caring and welcoming to all and looked out for everyone. He was very proud to be a Vietnam Veteran and he did things by the book. Donald was a man of great Virtue!

Donald F. Jones Jr. is survived by his sister Leona Jones, His brother Warren(Gloria) Jones. His sons, Vincent Stotts, Robert Stotts, Donte Jones. His grandson Aki Jones. His granddaughters Akilayh(Frankie) Wilson, Angel and Diamond Jones and his great-granddaughters Aaliyah, Kalayah, Faith, Farrah, and Aavayah Jones. He is preceded in death by his sister Gloria Jones, daughter Sadio Jones and his parents Donald Sr. and Lorraine Painter Jones.
