Obituary for Hattie Marie Duck James (Williams)
Hattie Marie Duck James, affectionally called “Marie,” was born on November 2, 1931, to the late Robert Lee Williams and Maggie Little Williams Yarborough in Louisburg, NC. The Lord welcomed Marie into his Kingdom of Heaven on March 4, 2023, at the divine age of 91.
Marie was reared in Zebulon, NC and attended Shepard High School. She later moved to Norfolk, VA where she completed high school at “the old” Booker T. Washington. Marie married the love of her life, Linwood James, in Elizabeth City, NC on September 3, 1976.
Marie is survived by her three daughters, Leontine Duck, Magaline Duck (Larry), and Thomasene Duck Gary (Frederick) all of Norfolk, VA; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held Friday, March 17, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Full Gospel Church of Deliverance-Norfolk at 711 Comstock St, Norfolk, VA 23502. Visitation is Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Graves Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
