Obituary for Operlean Johnson (Loving)
Operlean (Pearl) Johnson, 74, died peacefully in her daughter’s home on Monday, March 6, 2023. Operlean was born January 10, 1949, in Noxapater, Mississippi to Son and Sadie Loving.
She was one of fourteen siblings, 8 brothers and 6 sisters. She is survived by an older sister, Lonnie Crosby, older brother, Albert Loving, and a baby brother, Jerome Loving. (Uncle Sugarman)
Operlean had three daughters of her own, Stephanie Loving (deceased), Brenda Coburn and Regina Galan. Between the three of them, Operlean’s daughters gave her 10 grandchildren who would learn to know Operlean as “Lil Mama”, never grandma. Her grandchildren continued the tradition of “large families” by giving her 30 great grandchildren who each love her dearly.
We invite anyone who knew Operlean to attend and remember her wonderful life. As you reflect on your time with Operlean, please remember that her favorite animal was the elephant. The epitome of great strength, wisdom, and intelligence, just as Operlean was.
