Born April 14, 1926, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Daughter of the late Esther Vivian Gallup (Holley) and Henry Garfield Gallup. She grew up in Norfolk, Virginia where she attended public school in the Titustown area and graduated from Booker T Washington in 1944. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the First Baptist Church of Logan Park where she was very active and sang in the youth choir.
She resided in Wilmington, Delaware with her late husband Rudolph Triplett where they loved to travel around the world. After she retired from the Bank of Delaware, Mildred and her husband moved back to Norfolk, Virginia where they enjoyed various activities and spending time with family and friends. Mildred joined the New Hope Church of God in Christ until her failing health would allow.
Mildred was very strong willed and never complained of her problems. She accepted them as the will of God. Proceeding her death besides her husband are her three deceased children: Kenneth Lee Roy Gallup, Ronald Edwin Gallup, and Anita Joyce Spence (Gallup), her two sisters Marion Cox and Esther Gallup (deceased). She leaves to cherish her memories granddaughter Renee Kendrick (Spence), grandson William Al Spence, great granddaughters Breanna Spence and Chantell Lewis and great great-granddaughter Amirah Revish and a host of nieces and nephews.
