Obituary for McClary Bowman

Death is not the opposite of life. It is the door to Heaven.

McClary Bowman passed through the door to Heaven on May 6, 2023 with his darling wife by his bedside. McClary was born May 13, 1944 to the late Henry and Jennie Bowman. Of Hampton, South Carolina. In 1955 the family moved to Newark New Jersey.

He is now reunited with his parents, his siblings, and a child that preceded him in death Harry, Hank, Dennis, Robert, and Dorothy Bowman; and Renee Coles.

He was educated in the New Jersey school system and graduated from Montgomery High School in Newark. At the tender age of 18, he began work at the Midtown Slaughter House of Veal and Mutton as a guard. Over the years he was promoted to butcher and later to foreman. He helped many of his relatives, get employment with the company, and he remained there until he retired.

Mc Clary met the woman he would later marry, Gloria Coles in 1981. Gloria was rearing nine children. McClary and Gloria married in 1991. He happily took on the task of rearing and providing for his new family. McCleary was a hard-working, kind hearted and patient man.
