Keonna Monae Rheubottom Obituary

In Loving Memory of Keonna Monae Rheubottom

Who gained her wings on July 4, 2026, at the age of 28.

Keonna was born on August 9, 1997, in Chesapeake, Virginia to Hermione Brown and Keith Rheubottom. She was a part of the Virginia Beach Public School system, where she graduated from Salem High School. Keonna attended Elizabeth City State University and Norfolk State University where she earned a degree in psychology. She began her career as a Merchant Seaman but her multifaceted skill set earned her the opportunity to become a key player in developing and assisting to build the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel. Keonna’s compassion and selflessness continued to touch countless lives which led to dedicating herself to serving others as a Qualified Mental Health Professional. She lived life boldly, embracing every opportunity with courage, determination, and an adventurous spirit.

Keonna had a passion for exploration and lived life to the fullest. Whether she was riding dirt bikes, playing basketball or football, or traveling to new places, she found joy in every experience. She was a true risk-taker with a fearless heart, always willing to step outside her comfort zone. Her courage, generosity, and unwavering love for those around her made her unforgettable.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving mother, Hermione Brown; caring father, Keith Rheubottom; devoted big sister, Bianka Brown; beloved nephew, Jah’saun Griffin; darling nieces, Justice Brown, and Journey Brown; cherished godson, King Miller; and precious goddaughter, Carter Woods. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandmothers, Leila Jane Royster, and Joyce Rheubottom, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends and everyone blessed to know and love her. Keonna shared an unbreakable bond with her closest friends—Takerra Parsons, Jazmynne Blue, Venise Spears, and loving partner, Faith Wright.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Keonna lived with purpose, loved without limits, and left an unforgettable mark on everyone blessed to know her. Her infectious smile, fearless spirit, and beautiful soul will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
