Roosevelt Graham Sr. Obituary
In Loving Memory of Roosevelt Graham Sr.
Roosevelt Graham Sr., 82, peacefully passed away on September 5, 2026. Born in Scranton, South Carolina, he was the beloved son of the late Sam Graham and Elveta Graham and one of 13 children.
Roosevelt was a strong, hardworking, and resilient man who lived life on his own terms. He dedicated many years of service to the City of Norfolk before retiring. Gifted with his hands and naturally skilled in mechanics, he loved working on cars and could often be found repairing something or bringing it back to life. He also enjoyed cooking and preparing delicious meals for those he loved.
Although he had a tough exterior, beneath it was an incredibly kind, generous, and tender heart. He was especially skilled at claw machines and would collect bags of the prizes he won to donate to children in the hospital. Through this loving gesture, he brought joy and comfort to children who needed it most.
Anyone who knew Roosevelt knew that he was one of wrestling’s biggest fans. He also loved watching Westerns, which perfectly matched his strong, independent, and determined spirit. Whether he was watching one of his favorite shows, cooking, or working on a car, his unforgettable personality always shone through.
Without needing to say much, Roosevelt taught those around him what true strength and resilience looked like. Through the way he lived, he showed his family how to face hardships, overcome challenges, and continue fighting no matter what life placed in their path. He was a fighter the strongest man we knew and he will forever be remembered as our superhero.
Roosevelt was the proud father of six children. Five remain to cherish his memory: his devoted daughter, Marjorie, who lovingly cared for him; two other daughters and two sons. He was also blessed with many grandchildren, including Shantia Graham, Nalisca Carkner, Rikyla Graham, Nevaeh Brooks, Gee Reid, and beautiful great-grandchildren. Among them are Nivea Guyton, Reign Graham, and Leo Reid, who were blessed with the precious opportunity to know, love, and spend time with their great-grandfather.
He also shared a lasting and special bond with his former wife, Veronica Graham. Although their marriage ended, the friendship, closeness, and genuine care they shared remained throughout the years. Their enduring connection was a meaningful and treasured part of his life.
As a member of a large and loving family, he is survived by his siblings, Estelle Brand and Etherlevan Fulmore, and was deeply cherished by his many nieces and nephews. Among them was Magaline Knox (William), whose visits brought him companionship and joy. His niece, Kita Thomas, held an especially meaningful place in his life. She faithfully visited him, checked on him, and remained by his side through his final days. Her loving presence and devotion brought him great comfort.
Roosevelt’s strength, generosity, humor, and loving heart will continue to live on through the many lives he touched. His lessons will guide us, his love will remain with us, and his memory will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by his family and friends.
