Condolence From: Dr. Tenesha A Bazemore lead facilitator of Essence Book Club of Chesapeake
Condolence: Romans 8:38-39 "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
On behalf of the Essence Book Club of Chesapeake we extend our deepest condolences to the Alexander family. Barbara was a faithful member of our book club in both spirit and action for several years. We loved her analysis of the books and authors. Kwame was always her favorite poet. :-) She made us laugh and smile at her favorite books and authors. The successes of our Kwanzaa programs were in large part due to her guidance, participation, storytelling and instruction. Her presence at the meetings will be sorely missed, but we know she is shining like a star on the other side looking down on us. Take comfort in knowing she lived life to the fullest and we are eternally grateful to have had her presence at our meetings.

Condolence: My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. Mrs. Alexander was a wonderful parent when I taught her child at Great Bridge Elementary. She gave great support after Dr. Alexander introduced me to Kwanzaa and the concept was new to my administrator. I'll forever remember this gracious lady.
