Rudolph Clinton Anderson, Sr. put down mortality for immortality on September 6, 2018 at his residence. He was born August 19, 1933 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Jesse N. Anderson, Sr. and Mary Tillett Anderson. Rudolph was the youngest of six children.
Rudolph was educated in Norfolk Public Schools. Rudolph attended Norfolk State University, in the trades venue, from where he successfully graduated to become a certified roof repairman.
He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Rudolph was also an entrepreneur. He founded and operated his own trucking business.
Rudolph was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute Street in Norfolk, Virginia where he attended regularly until his health failed.
He leaves to cherish his memory two children, his daughter, Avryll J. Anderson and his son, Dr. Rudolph C. Anderson, Jr. (Pamela); two grandsons, Ryon C. Anderson and Gabriel L. Anderson; one great-grandson, Krystopher A. Glover; ex-wife, Shirley T. Anderson; nieces, Jill McGlone (Alonzo), Dr. Lea Anderson Thomas (Fred), Karen Bethea; nephews, Dr. Jesse N. Anderson III (Susan), Francell Abbott, Jr. (Loretta), William Anderson, Jr. as well as a host of extended relatives and friends. His dog, R.C. and his cat, Lady were his best buddies and his companionship will truly be missed.
