He was called home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2020, at the Charlie Norwood Veterans Administration Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia with his daughter Denise by his side. He was the son of the late Lacy and Selena Williams. Jesse was the husband of the late Eloise Lee Williams. Jesse served and retired with an honorable discharge from the United States Navy as Chief Petty Officer. He served as a radarman, an electronics mechanic, and recruiter while in the Navy. He received Good Conduct Medals, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
